The Daily Offices from The Mission St. Clare

The Daily Offices are times appointed for prayer, scripture reading and meditation. They are adopted from the monastic tradition that called for prayer 9 times a day. The simple order of worship with bible references can be found at

The Lectionary Page

People can read the appointed scriptures read during Holy Communion for Sunday worship on a certain date. Portions of scripture are usually read from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the Letters of Paul and the Gospel for a total of four readings.  The Episcopal Church and St. Ann's use the Revised Common Lectionary.

Forward Movement Publications

Is an organization affiliated with the Episcopal Church which publishes all sorts of helpful resources. It’s most popular publication is Forward Day by Day, a guide for daily bible reading with short meditations. People can access these readings and meditations on the website free of charge.  There are additional tools and resources that offer prayers and other publications on various topics.

There are a host of organizations or special interest groups of the Episcopal Church that support and expand the church’s mission and ministry. They include but are not limited to peace, education, social justice and the inclusion of racial and ethnic groups and the gay and lesbian community.

Integrity

Integrity is the national organization in the Episcopal Church of gay and lesbian people, their families and friends. Anyone can be a member of Integrity. There are chapters in various dioceses.

The Women’s Caucus

This interest group seeks the full inclusion of women into the life and ministry of the church. They also join with other movements and organizations that address and alleviate injustice based on gender.

The Union of Black Episcopalians

The UBE was formed in 1900 as a lay and clergy organization whose purpose is to seek ways to include African – Americans into the life and ministry of the Episcopal Church and to eradicate the sin of racism.

Episcopal Relief and Development

ERD responds to crisis caused by natural disaster  or political unrest throughout the world. It also assists with recovery efforts as well. ERD often works with other relief agencies both religious and secular.

This publication offers insights, observations and critiques of the church and faith. The editor is the Reverend Lane Denson, retired priest and past associate on the staff of St. Ann's. It is published three times a year and can be read online.
