Photo of St. Ann's after rebuilding
Finding St. Ann'sThroughout its history, St. Ann's has been located in the Edgefield area of Nashville, just across the Woodland Street bridge from downtown. The 1880's era Victorian building was destroyed in a tornado in 1998 but the new building was built on the same site as the old - at 419 Woodland Street, on the corner of 5th Street. St. Ann's is in the shadow of the Coliseum, the home of the Tennessee Titans professional football stadium.
Edgefield, like much of East Nashville, is currently experiencing revitalization. It is home to diverse social, ethnic, and income groups, all of which St. Ann's seeks to minister to. Though many members of our parish commute some distance, ours is still a parish in and of its neighborhood. * From the south, on I-24N, take the Shelby St. exit, turn right on Shelby at the stop light. Get in the left lane. Turn left on 5th at the first light on Shelby. Continue north on 5th to the next light, which is Woodland Street. St. Ann's is located diagonally across the intersection on the northwest corner (the left).
* From the north, on I-24S, take the Spring Street exit and continue around the curve. Go straight at the first red light, at Main Street; St. Ann's is the second building on your right. |
